Warrior Tanking Empty
PostSubject: Warrior Tanking   Warrior Tanking Icon_minitimeSun Oct 05, 2008 8:17 pm

Ok again for the warrior tanking skills here are some tricks and simple rukles to follow, if you die during tanking allways and i mean allways blame the healers but only warriors can do this couse they cant heal in combat appart from bandages.
OK first off again here is the spec that i find useful.
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warrior/talents.html?tal=050000000000000000000005000000000000000000002353510333022123031351

Ok first off warriors like paladins and druid need aggro but they usually start a fight with 0 rage or 0 mana and through the course of the fighting they get more rage or mana in their case (they can only cast melle abilities and i am using mana as a reference for ppl to better understand what rage is). So the fastest way to gain rage is to have mobs beating the pulp out of you, and also hitting as often as you can so the general rule is to have a fast Main hand weapon or MH for short, about under 2 seconds like 1.6 to 1.8 the faster the weapon the faster u hit so more rage you make simple. But you can have slower weapons to deal more damage and threat but not as fast rage pruduction it is down to how u like to fight simply.

Now here are the things you have to remember you must allways in a fight have Commanding Shout up or Battle Shout as they give you more damage so you gain more threat or more health to stay alive with as well as your party members. Now we have the begging fight sorted, now for the beginning of the fight, you can enter the battle by running to the mob shooting the mob (most likely as you may need to pull em away from other groups) or you can charge them which gives u much more threat to use at the beginning of the fight so you can u can do instant threat. Another way you can have pull is to have another range pull and take the threat off them as soon as u can. This is the most recomended so u can charge and gain tat extra threat, however i can hear u now saying "but u need to be in battle stance to use charge and u lose threat from changing stances" in the most cases you would be right but with the stance mastery talant u get u keep much more rage so u can get the full potential from this move. U will also need to have Defencive stance on your task bar so when u do charge u can swap instantly and get into tanking mode quickly.

Ok that is the pull and pre pull sorted now for the combat. the first move you want to do and this is before you get Devistate is to use Sunder Armour, Rend, Revenge (when you can) Shield Bash, Shield wall (again dont over use, use on boss fights or loads of mobs), Shield Slam, Shield Block (as often as you can to give you less damage if the mobs hit hard), Challenging Shout (when you need to dont over use this due to the Cool down) ok use this on the mobs as u can, use rend on the mobs that u dont hit with Sunder armour so it gives a tick of damage so more threat to your mobs. This can be very good if the dps are working with you and atatcking your target if not it can be hell to keep the agro and u may or may not get any enjoyment out of it. Stick to your guns and if any of the dps are going wild, let them die a few times if u can allow them to or get close to dieing and pritty soon they will get the idea and stay to your tactics.

Ok i think that is it if there is any thing missing just let me kknow and i will add to it.
